Making Welding Gloves, Several Natural Leathers
Sep 03, 2018

The cow's head layer: generally consists of a dense and thin layer of fibers and a slightly loose excess layer attached to it. The bovine first layer has good strength, elasticity and process plasticity. It is also because of these characteristics that the use of the cow's head layer in the welding glove manufacturing process is very extensive.

Bovine split leather: Compared to the bovine first layer, there is only a loose fibrous tissue layer, and it can only be used to make leather products after spraying chemical materials or polishing. It maintains a certain degree of natural elasticity and process plasticity. However, the strength of the cow's second layer skin is worse than that of the cow's head layer.

Pig skin: In layman's terms, it is a raw material for meat products with high protein content. Because the pigskin is strong, breathable and wear-resistant, it is also used to make leather gloves.

Sheepskin: It is usually the skin of a bovine goat or sheep. Sheepskin is characterized by its light weight, soft feel and a thin leather. The gloves made of sheepskin are light and soft, with good gloss and elasticity. But sheepskin is not as hard as cowhide and pigskin.

The above are some of the more common natural leathers used to make welding gloves. The differences in the grades of the four leathers are compared with each other. The higher the grade, the higher the cost, so choose the right welding gloves for the needs of your environment. Grade, which can save costs and ensure safe operation.
